Transcending Social Structures

My friend said to me while in mid-conversation that I am a "transcendentalist" I had never looked up the word and I guess I do have very similar values. This is what it means:

"Transcendentalists believe that society and its institutions—particularly organized religion and political parties—corrupt the purity of the individual. They have faith that people are at their best when truly "self-reliant" and independent."

The truth is, I love self-empowerment, it has changed my life AND I love and believe in community and benevolent governments as well. I believe that communities are strong when the people are self-empowered, self-aware and self-responsible as a result you build a strong community where you can help each other from a benevolent place and everyone feels dignified, valued and seen- this creates more within a culture and community. A community of people who know their worth and know their individual power, harmony, change, and support will pour out freely and all support will be capitalized on greatly. This is what sustainable change looks like.

Before I moved to California, I liquidated the contents of my home and personal items, sold my car and purchased a one-way ticket from Michigan to California. Newer to building a business, on my own but deeply determined and inspired to go towards what was calling me.

I was at the bus stop in LA one day and the bus driver opened the door and said to me; why are you so happy?? I responded with a laugh, I don't have any reason NOT be happy! :) Thinking...this isn't struggle you're witnessing, this is expansion. My more in-depth response would have been: I'm happy because, I know who I am, where I'm going and that anything is possible in life.

During my time spent on the bus line, I would see the Tesla car and say Yes, yes!! Oh,how I love you! I am buying one of those! This car makes me so happy for some reason! And every other car in LA is a Tesla, essentiallyconditioning me to think well.. this is normal living. #word I appreciate the innovation of the car,the beauty, it’s sexy! The luxury, the speed and of course I feel attracted to the car because of the brilliant, inventor and electrical engineer, Nikola Tesla! He is one of my mentors in spirit.

This particular weekend I met up with a friend in Venice, we laughed and talked over vino and somehow Tesla came up. I lit up! Then said,oh let me tell you about Tesla’s new solar projects..I just love this brand. 2 minutes later her (new) partner whom I’d just met tossed me his keys and said, why don't you drive it tonight to see how if it works for you!! How awesome, how fun! I took the key fob with no hesitation! As soon as I sat in the car, I said to the car "You knew mama was coming" lol Not only was it exhilarating to drive the machine, the owner's generosity of spirit just warmed my heart. It was even slightly raining that night and he wasn't apprehensive at all. Behind the wheel of the car felt like I imagined it would.. like I was floating on air, powerful, yet controlled and EXPANSIVE!! Woohoo, I love the little fun manifestations of my thoughts throughout every day. It makes my life fun, rich and inspiring. I love playing with life in this way!

The next Tesla I drive will be mine.
